What’s your self-care routine?

Updated: Nov 6, 2021

Welcome to the blog “Let’s Talk About It Sis” where we are here to uplift and empower all women. Let’s talk about our feelings, our love life, our kids, our mental health. Let’s come together and talk about it sis. What we plan to achieve in this blog is for women to come together in sisterhood. We have so many topics to cover, and then some so let’s get started with self-care being the first topic.

I recently got back into my #SelfcareSaturdaze routine and it feel’s amazing. Since going back to work on top of running a business I am exhausted by the end of the week. It’s important for women to take that time to themselves for a little pampering. When my children were younger I would think I was being selfish by taking time to myself and buying myself something nice. I had to learn that it’s not selfish it’s needed. Mom’s give so much to their children and literally drop everything for their kids dreams and goals. I put my dreams on hold to put my children through dance because that’s what they wanted to do. That’s what I wanted them to do. I wanted them to travel and see the world and experience the things I didn’t as a child. Well then covid hit, and I was so happy. I finally was able to save money, and put funding into my business. I was able to sell my products, build my website, brand my company. It felt good actually have product on hand to sell. That is when I found putting myself first was not selfish it was needed. I needed to launch my business, I needed to be able to afford product, I needed to work on my credit score, I needed to put myself first. I got so wrapped up in being a single mom and not wanting my kids to feel left out in anything that I literally would feel bad if I did anything for myself. Some people weren’t too happy about the pandemic, but it literally was needed for me. I was happy when the pandemic hit. I started dating the most amazing man ever. He is literally my best friend and lover wrapped in one person. I launched my business. I was able to maintain the upkeep of having product on hand. I was able to focus on me, and my mental health.

Now once outside opened back up I was really able to conduct a self-care routine as salons and spas opened back up. Pampering myself was definitely number 1 on the list. I fell in love with it. I put me first, and that is what made me a better mom for my girls. We often feel putting ourself first makes us a bad mom, but it doesn’t. You need you time, you need time away from your kids, you need to do things for yourself in order to be happy. Even if your a single woman with no kids PUT YOURSELF FIRST! I encourage all women to love themselves, make time for “me time”, write down a list of your self-care needs/wants. Encourage every woman you meet to do the same. Uplift another woman. Let’s build a sisterhood of BOSS ass women. Let’s Talk About It Sis! Drop your self-care routine in the comments. See you in the next post.
